Spinning Services & Pricing

We are a spinning only business. When having your fleeces washed and carded please ask that they be put into loose roving. They can then ship directly to us with your spinning notes. Go to our Spinning Order Form fill out the form and either print it out to be shipped with your fleece or roving or you can email it to us. If emailing the form and you want multiple weights of yarn just submit one form with detailed instructions for each fleece (you can check as many boxes as you like.

Our process includes pin drafting, spinning, plying and skeining, please no fibers over 6 inches. Specify yarn size wanted or better yet send a sample. All yarn will be put up in large bobbin skeins unless otherwise requested. This means what ever is on the bobbin when it comes off the spinning frame. The prices below are on the finished weight of the yarn. There is no minimum, but anything less then 1 pound will be charged at the 1 pound rate. All yarn is 2-ply

Bulky (approx. 4 wpi) $18.00 ($1.13 per oz.)

Heavy Worsted (approx. 6 wpi ) $18.00 ($1.13 per oz.)

Light Worsted (approx. 8 wpi) $18.00 ($1.13 per oz.)

Sport (approx. 12 wpi) $20.00 ($1.25 per oz)

Fingering (approx. 16 wpi) $22.00 ($1.38 per oz)

Lace (approx. 22+ wpi) $24.00 ($1.62 per oz.)

All roving must be absolutely clean or it will have to be rewashed at your expense. You will be contacted if there are any additional charges before we process your fiber.

Additional Services

Rewash roving …………………………… $3.00 per pound

Pin Drafting Only…………………………..$2.75 per pound

(If you need pencil roving it may have to go through more then once to get the size)

Unwinding of bumps……………………….$1.50 per pound

Measured Skeins (you specify yardage)……$2.00 per pound

NOTE: Between the carding machine and the spinning setup there can be as much as 8 ounces loss of fiber. Rarely is it this much but you can have the same loss whether it is 1 pound or 100 pounds.

PAYMENT POLICY:

You will be charged on finished weight of yarn only. We accept checks, postal money orders, MasterCard and Visa as well as PayPal. You will be notified when your order is completed and what the charges are. We require payment within 15 days of invoice. After that finance charges and storage fees will apply. If your order is not paid for within 3 months we will have to assume you no longer want the order and it will be sold to cover our expenses.
